Tempest Storm True Burlesque The Wolf Bait Girl Photographs of 1952 Russ Meyer and Peter DeCenzie

1952 photo set of Tempest Storm.  The original order form from P. A. D. Productions in Oakland.  P.A.D. was Peter DeCenzie, the longtime friend and associate of Russ Meyer...and Tempest Storm is Tempest Storm!  They made a powerhouse trio.

DeCenzie ran the El Rey Burlesque which employed Ms. Storm as a dancer in the 1950s.  Russ liked boobs.  With his camera, he made burlesque magic with these photographs.

True Burlesque Burlesk Bounces Back from Tab the Pocket Picture Magazine 1952

Today on True Burlesque, a classic article on the performers from 1952.  It had to be scanned before it turned to dust.  The piece, which contains a wonderful photo of burlesque cipher Lily Lamont (more about Lily Lamont HERE) and a 21 year old Tempest Storm, both likely taken by Russ Meyer. Also, a rare image taken by Weegee.  Without breaking the spine too much. here you go! 

Also shown Lily St. Cyr, Lily "CAT" Christine (making the layout a trio of Lilys) and much more.  The piece was written by Alec Wynn for Tab The Pocket Picture Magazine, November 1952.  It is a shame this periodical is not available on the web...considered disposable in the 1950s, every issue is full of source material for popular culture researchers.

Russ Meyer Tempest Storm El Rey Theatre and "A Full Set" True Burlesque

What was magnificently talented early boobs fan and film director Russ Meyer shooting in 1952?  The equally magnificent and talented Tempest Storm, whom Russ shot from below in a soon to be characteristic angle he used in later films.  Who has a "full set" here?  Tempest!  But you can too, for only 25 cents.  Russ partnered with the El Rey to sell photographs of Tempest...and the price was "firm" folks.

Russ Meyer Films, Then Loses His First Film French Peep Show True Burlesque

28 year old Russ Meyer filming his first film, now lost, with producer Peter DeCenzie peering over his shoulder at the talent.  Russ had done industrials, but French Peep Show was his first nudie cutie, and consisted of an elaborate staged burlesque show at the El Rey Theater.  DeCenzie slipped and fell while ogling during production and spent some time in traction.  If any copies of the film remained, it would have been a valuable artifact, not only of a typical, if torrid example of a night of Burlesque, it would also featured the acts of Tempest Storm, Lily Lamont, Shalimar and other peelers, and unlike the lame films done around the same time as Irving Klaw's, it was staged and featured more than a single figure vamping.  It would have probably also been the first example of Meyer "shooting from below" which he used to great effect in every subsequent film.

Even this  34 page program is quite scarce, but at least one or two still exist.
