It's nice that the ashtray is going away...at least for tobacco. They'll be back again as more states think they can become cash rich by legalizing it. Ashtrays are usually dirty and filthy. This one manages to be dirty, filthy and tasteless, and it's never been used! The gag is common...it turned up on novelty gag cards mostly. "The kind men like" sold on the back pages of men's magazines. They used to be funny, but are now just offensive. Still, to shave or not was a pretty common article in women's magazines a few years ago. Which means these sordid little gags are more offensive for the depiction of a boy adopting a stereotyped version of a First Nations warrior than for the merkin.
