A
1962 ad for the Strippers School Book, in which Venus and her friends,
including the talented "Patti Waggin" teach others how to take off their
clothes. As you can see, this activity was carried out under the
watchful eyes of Uncle Sam (excerpt from House Testimony 3 years later)
I wonder if Sam sat in the front row!SEE ALL THE VINTAGE SLEAZE / DULL TOOL DIM BULBBOOKS IN PRINT HERE
What was magnificently talented early boobs fan and film director Russ Meyer shooting in 1952? The equally magnificent and talented Tempest Storm, whom Russ shot from below in a soon to be characteristic angle he used in later films. Who has a "full set" here? Tempest! But you can too, for only 25 cents. Russ partnered with the El Rey to sell photographs of Tempest...and the price was "firm" folks.

The Galactic Central data base of pulps has three issues of Burlesk illustrated but they have no copies of my Back Stage Burlesk, so I'll add it to the universal brain. I posted a small portion of the cover once, and it's already been cribbed by scholars and gadflies…without credit I might add, but that's the nature of digital. It is also the day of automated crawlers, re-posters, aggregate publishers, electronic thieves and robots. I have NO idea how we will sort t all out, but I do know robots are better at finding copyright violations than humans. "Digital" makes it all possible. Every single thing posted on the web has a unique identifier. Every single thing, and it takes a robot only a fraction of a second to reduce it all to a sequence of zeros and ones and retrieve it up for you. Served on a silver screen.
Which means if there is anyone left at "Show Print Co." who put together the magazine above…I suppose I've violated something, but then they didn't copyright the thing in the first place. I checked. They didn't even date it. Verily!
One day we'll sort it out and the rich will get richer. Trust me. I am not among them, so don't bother to sue me.
My guess is this magazine was handed out at questionable places "decent" folk didn't go. I also suspect it couldn't have been submitted for copyright as it was, at the time, of questionable legality. At least "Show Print" didn't take the time, and since their rag consisted of publicity photographs THEY didn't pay for either…stealing and repackaging images of naked women goes back a ways.

Here at True Burlesque, it is "March Madness" all year 'round, but to celebrate the fantastic showing of Ann Arbor's own University of Michigan Wolverines last night, Let's have a look at Mss Ann Arbor, "leading star" of burlesque!

Fever Blush Fame and Wolf Bait True Burlesque
Published
from St. Marks Place in the East Village in 1959, ground zero for
hipsters from beatniks to hippies to punk rockers to suited Starbucks
sippers who by comparison hardly matter, here are a few issues of
amazing burlesque clip-art published by Zee Zee Martine!
Each
a "Zee Zee" publication, the digests served as pitches for exotic
dancers on the runway route. Zee Zee Martine was a bomb...a wicked
beautiful dancer who had more than stuff to shake. How many women
publishers can you name from 1959?
It is quite possible the
auteur amazon also took some of the pictures, though a few photographers
of the opposite gender were identified. Zee Zee enlisted the help of
Evelyn West, AKA "The Hubba-Hubba Girl" as editor, and together the
dancing dames profiled their women friends, took ads for lingerie and
dished the dice on who was bouncing around where. Each some 50 pages.
They sold 4 x 5 photo sets, cribbed naughty cartoons from
wherever and ran more pastie covered photos of their runway girlfriends
than you can imagine. I suspect the girls were allowed to sell these in
clubs, there was no subscription offer really...and as such they are
for the most part lost. Relics from 50 years ago, when a dancer packed
her costume in a trunk and hit the road.

Crazy, man, crazy! Typical "disposition" of an "exotic" dancer. This time we let the copy tell the story.
